Terms of Service

These terms form an agreement between you and CrateWire (“CrateWire”, “we”, “us”), a service operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. They govern your access to and use of the CrateWire web app and any related pages, features, and tools we make available.

By creating an account, starting a subscription, or otherwise using CrateWire, you confirm that you have read these terms and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

CrateWire is a subscription web app that identifies the tracks DJs play in their public Instagram posts. It reads a DJ's public content, runs each post through an automated detection pipeline, and surfaces the identified tracks in a cross-DJ “what's new” feed, with a confidence score on every single ID.

CrateWire analyses public content only. It is a discovery and research tool for working DJs and crate-diggers; it is not a record store, a streaming service, or a way to access anyone's private account.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or hold a subscription. By using CrateWire you confirm that you meet this requirement.

You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

CrateWire analyses only public Instagram content. We do not access private accounts, and you must not use CrateWire to attempt to access, monitor, or extract content from any private account.

You must have the rights or permission necessary for any handle you add to track, and you must not add a handle in order to harass, stalk, dox, or otherwise infringe the rights of any person. CrateWire is for finding the music DJs play, not for targeting people.

You also agree not to:

• Noreverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or detection logic of the service.
• Noscrape, crawl, or bulk-extract CrateWire's own pages, data, or output outside the features we provide.
• Noresell, redistribute, or sub-license CrateWire output as your own product.
• Nouse bots, automated abuse, or any method that places an unreasonable load on the service or circumvents usage limits.

Every track identification CrateWire produces is probabilistic. IDs are generated by automated detection and shown alongside a confidence score that tells you how sure the match is. They may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date.

CrateWire gives no warranty that any identification is accurate. You should treat an ID as a best-effort signal, not as a definitive statement of fact, and verify anything you intend to rely on.

CrateWire offers two paid tiers. All prices are in US dollars (USD):

• Digger$9/monthor $76/year
• Crate$29/monthor $244/year

Subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods. We may change prices from time to time, with advance notice, for future billing periods.

CrateWire, including its name, branding, design, and software, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property law. Track names, artist names, artwork, and other third-party material belong to their respective owners; CrateWire claims no ownership of them.

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own DJ and crate-digging purposes for as long as your account is in good standing. This licence does not let you copy, resell, or build a competing product from CrateWire.

CrateWire relies on third-party providers to operate, including Instagram data providers, audio fingerprinting services, hosting, and payment processing. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of those third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

Instagram is a trademark of its owner and is not affiliated with, and does not endorse or sponsor, CrateWire.

CrateWire is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any track identification will be accurate or complete.

Nothing in these terms removes or limits any rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, CrateWire is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You may stop using CrateWire and delete your account at any time. Cancelling your subscription is handled through the billing portal, as described above.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or create risk or legal exposure for us or others. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will give notice before taking this step.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example by email or an in-app notice. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.

Continuing to use CrateWire after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them. This is subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
