Guide · CrateWire in your AI chat
Use CrateWire in ChatGPT and Claude
Updated November 2026
The short answer
Add CrateWire as a custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude with the address https://cratewire.com/mcp, then sign in to CrateWire in your browser. After that, ask your AI chat what a DJ played this week, for the tracklist of a set, or to scan a list of reels, and it answers from CrateWire.
Or paste this into your AI chat
Help me connect CrateWire to you. CrateWire is a remote MCP server at https://cratewire.com/mcp and it signs in with OAuth, so there is no API key. If you can add MCP servers yourself, add it as a remote HTTP server named CrateWire. If you can't, give me the exact steps to add it as a custom connector in this app. Then I'll sign in to CrateWire in my browser and approve.
The server address: https://cratewire.com/mcp
Set it up
You sign in to CrateWire in your browser and approve the app once. Your app never sees your password.

What you can ask
- Look up a link. The tracks CrateWire already found in a post, reel, TikTok video or set.
- Your DJs. The DJs you follow, with how many tracks we found for each.
- A DJ's latest tracks. The newest tracks from a DJ you follow.
- Your feed. What's new across your DJs, your scans and your imports.
- Your sets. The DJ sets you scanned, newest first.
- A set's tracklist. The tracks in one of your sets, or a set's public preview.
- Scan a new link. Scans a link CrateWire hasn't seen yet, using your plan.
- Scan a list of links. Up to 10 posts and 5 sets at once, after you say yes.
- Follow DJs. Follows up to 25 DJs from a list of handles, within your plan.
- Your Radar. Who played the artists and tracks you watch (Vault plan).
- Watch an artist or track. Adds a watch to your Radar from the chat.
- Stop watching. Removes a watch from your Radar.
Three prompts to start with
- What did @yourdj play this week?
- Get the tracklist of this set: <link>
- Scan these 5 reels and tell me what's in them: <links>
Which plan you need
- Every plan, Free included, as soon as you're signed in. There is no lookup without a CrateWire account.
- Answers follow your plan, exactly like the app. Where the app shows you the first 3 tracks, so does your AI app, and it tells you how many more there are.
- Your own sets show what your plan shows in the app. Sets someone else scanned show their public preview, the first 10 minutes.
- Asking never uses up your monthly scans or set minutes.
- Before a list of scans uses your plan, your app shows what's already found and what the new scans will use.
- Following DJs from your app uses the same DJ slots and monthly changes as the app.
- Radar answers are part of the Vault plan.
- Scans your app starts count against your plan's monthly scans and set minutes, exactly like a paste in the app, and need an active plan.
- Without an active plan, an AI app can start one post scan per account, and its answer shows the first 3 tracks.
- Limits for every plan: 60 link lookups and 300 questions a day per account.
- When your plan limits an answer, the answer says so. In ChatGPT that is all it says. In other apps it ends with one link: the 7-day free trial when your account can start one, and our plans page otherwise.
Disconnect any time
Open Settings, then Connected apps, and choose Disconnect. The app loses access straight away. Deleting your CrateWire account disconnects every app.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a paid CrateWire plan?
- No. Every plan, Free included, can connect and ask about tracks CrateWire already found. Asking never uses your monthly scans. Starting new scans from the chat uses your plan, exactly like pasting a link in CrateWire.
- Does ChatGPT or Claude get my password?
- No. You sign in to CrateWire in your browser and approve the app. The app gets a key that only works for CrateWire's AI connection, never your email address or your password.
- I added it but the chat doesn't use it. What now?
- Turn it on for the chat. In Claude, open the + button on the lower left, choose Connectors and switch CrateWire on. In ChatGPT, install the CrateWire plugin, then type @ in the message box and choose CrateWire.
- How do I disconnect?
- Open Settings, then Connected apps, and choose Disconnect. The app loses access straight away.
